I now have more than ten years experience of supporting individuals with an extensive range of special needs.
Although I initially began working with children attending a specialist setting in 2012, my mindset and ethos relating to differently able individuals almost spans my entire life. Detailed knowledge of individual learning needs as well as co-occurring difficulties provide me with a unique skillset, allowing me to identify needs accurately. Resources and support mechanisms are effective, progressive and address needs simultaneously.
Hazelwood ARC aims to support
schools, students and their families
To overcome the barriers to enable engagement, progression and most importantly enjoyment of learning. Extensive experience allows careful differentiation, tailored resourcing and provides opportunity for connection, building valuable relationships which extend to opportunities outside of sessions.
Ta-dah SEN to Hazelwood Alternative Resource Centre
The progression from Ta-dah SEN to Hazelwood Alternative Resource Centre will allow significant extension to the provision available. Going forward services will be extended through the employment of highly skilled staff who share my inclusive ethos, enabling provision of bespoke programs to support those most in need of support, including social and emotional as well as academic.
Dedicated to my late grandfather
Hazelwood ARC is dedicated to my late grandfather, Kenneth Goodenough. A man who was an inspiration to me throughout my life with his hard work and selflessness.
He showed me the joy and pleasure that helping others can bring.
